Week 10 Update.

Premier Division

Both teams remain as they were at the top of the Premier Division after securing matching 4–1 victories over their respective Alfreton opponents.

The standout frame of the week came at the Welcome Institute, where Guy Dennis faced Jack Morton. Jack looked set to take it after a composed break of 39, only for Guy to respond immediately with an impressive 44 to snatch the frame. Great shooting from both players.

The Clock Tower’s Shaun Wilkes returns to the top of the rankings following his win away at Alfreton, edging just ahead of the Welcome’s unbeaten Tony Morgan.

Division One

With YM ‘C’ taking a break this week, a strong result for Alfreton ‘D’ would send them to the top of the table — and they delivered, sweeping aside Clowne ‘A’ with a commanding 4–1 away win. Terry Dowson, Dylan Wright, Adam White and stand-in player Mark Taylor all secured valuable points.

Alfreton ‘B’, however, didn’t fare as well, as a depleted New Whitt side produced a stellar performance to leave Alfreton with four points, helped by a tidy 35 break from Martin Lawrence.

A 3–2 home win for YM ‘B’ over Alfreton ‘G’ tightens things further, leaving just one point separating third from seventh place.

Andrew Frisby who remains unbeaten moves above in form Lee Hage, who also is unbeaten and tops the players standings with a superior points difference.

Division Two

Kudos in Division Two this week goes to Doe Lea’s Baz Patilla, who delivered an impressive 47 break against Hasland ‘D’ captain Nick Gaunt — a contribution that now stands as the new highest break in the division and also the highest from all 5 divisions this week. Congratulations, Baz!

Elsewhere, Grassmoor’s resurgence continues with a 4–1 win over Hasland ‘C’, a result that strengthens their position as genuine challengers to the high-flying Lennons ‘C’, who still hold a narrow lead and a game in hand.

In the player standings, following his emphatic win over Robert Wragsdale, Hasland’s Mick Hall breaks into the top eight for the first time this season, boosting his hopes of securing a place in the end-of-season Masters competition.

Division Three

In the Alfreton derby, Team F claimed the bragging rights this time around with a 3–2 victory over Team C. Unbeaten Shane Miles, along with wins from Paul Sainsbury and Steve Bullock, secured the result.

For Team C, captain Dean Bullock and another impressive performance from Kai Hopkins earned the remaining two points.

YM Brotherhood ‘F’ recorded their first 5–0 whitewash of the season against struggling Newbold CA ‘C’. Victories from Michael Elliott, Keith Chaplin, Mark Bower, Brian Fullard and Paul Darby lifted the Clay Cross side to the top of the table on win difference.

Chaplin’s win also sees him move to the top of the players’ standings, albeit by just a single red ball — a fine reminder of how every pot can influence your position.

Hasland ‘B’ secured their second win of the season, edging out New Whitt by 3 frames to 2.

Division Four

The all-YM top-of-the-table clash saw YM ‘E’ cut into the leaders’ advantage. After going 1–0 down, they responded strongly as YM ‘H’ dropped the next four frames, with wins coming from Andy Shepherd, Shane Walton, Dave Allen and captain Stuart Rodgers. Both teams now sit level on points in what is proving to be a tightly contested division.

A commanding 4–1 victory for Lennons ‘G’ also brings them into the title conversation, with Lennons ‘J’ and YM ‘G’ still lurking close behind the leaders.

In the player standings, aside from a few minor shifts, the top eight remains largely unchanged.
