Brotherhood Duo Dominate the Scotch Doubles Final

Champions, Dave Wilkinson & Jonathan Hall, YM Brotherhood ‘A’

Hall & Wilkinson Sweep Aside Defending Champions in Scotch Doubles Final

Defending champions David Birley and Gavin Shirley returned to the table in hopes of retaining their Lennons Scotch Doubles title—but they were met with a formidable challenge in Dave Wilkinson and Jonathan Hall of YM Brotherhood.

Hall and Wilkinson came out firing, immediately setting the tone with a stunning 77 break—eclipsing the tournament’s previous high break of 55, ironically set by Birley and Shirley earlier in the event. It was a clear statement of intent from the challengers.

The second frame saw the Lennons duo try to mount a response, stringing together a promising break of 25 before their momentum stalled. Hall and Wilkinson seized the opportunity and extended their lead to 2-0, leaving the defending champions with a mountain to climb.

There was no let-up in the third frame. Hall and Wilkinson showcased their all-around game with tight safety play and clinical potting. A standout moment came when Hall fired in a spectacular long red just off the side cushion that drew gasps from the onlookers. With the momentum firmly on their side, the Brotherhood pair closed out the match in just over an hour, prompting a handshake from the gracious runners-up.

Congratulations to Dave Wilkinson and Jonathan Hall—worthy winners and new champions of the Lennons Scotch Doubles.
